Tactical Colleague Rescue at Height (TCRH)

Building on Tactical Safe Working at Height, this two-day course adds the skills needed to rescue a colleague who has fallen into their fall arrest system. It is designed for tactical, government, law enforcement and military personnel operating at height.

Prerequisites:

  • None

Course content includes

  • Rescue 3 philosophy and tactical training standards

  • Medical considerations and casualty care for tactical operations

  • Personal and technical equipment for tactical operations at height

  • Pre-planning, risk assessment, incident size-up and site control

  • Loads and forces, safety checks and communications

  • Working at height around uncooperative subjects

  • Knots, anchor systems and rope protection

  • Work restraint, fall arrest, work positioning and climbing with lanyards

  • Lifting and lowering a casualty using an external mechanical advantage system

  • Individual pick-offs

  • Where used by your agency: ladders and improvised roof safety systems
